City Council Meetings are held in the City Council Chambers located in the Garden Level of Tempe City Hall at the Harry E. Mitchell Government Center, 31 East Fifth Street, Tempe, Arizona, unless posted otherwise. Regular Council Meetings are held on Thursday with City business beginning at 6:00 p.m., unless posted otherwise. Council Work Study Sessions are held on a different Thursday beginning at 4:00 p.m., unless posted otherwise.
City Council meetings are broadcast live on Tempe Channel 11, the City’s government access channel, and rebroadcast throughout the following week. Council meetings are streamed live on www.tempe.gov/tempe11; video replays are available online the next day.

Meetings of the Council and Boards and Commissions are required to comply with the Arizona Revised Statutes, Title 38, Article 3.1, commonly referred to as the Open Meeting Law. Meetings are public, except for executive sessions. Open Meeting Law materials may be accessed in the Attorney General's Arizona Agency Handbook, Chapter 7 and the Arizona Ombudsman's Open Meeting Law Booklet.Agendas and notices are posted at least 24 hours prior to a meeting or event. Revisions and updated materials for upcoming agendas will be posted the Tuesday before the Thursday meeting date.
Members of the City Council may attend virtually or by electronic means.
Draft minutes or legal actions are posted to the website within three working days of a meeting. The draft minutes contain all legal actions taken.
